The Team
Who We Are
Matt Staubi
President & Co-Founder
Matt Staubi, President and Co-Founder of the KULU Foundation, was born and raised in Westchester, New York, where he was exposed to the difficulties of neighboring communities from a very young age. His perspective was shaped through his experiences giving back as a kid, as well as traveling through the state and country playing basketball, meeting those less fortunate, learning there was always room to make an impact. Basketball lead him to Loyola Maryland, a small college in Baltimore, Maryland, a city with tons of challenges, that confirmed his way of thinking that there would always be a need to give back. When discussing with his Co-Founders Paul and Neal, it became clear to him that you don’t have to change the world to change someone’s world, and starting small was necessary no matter when you choose to start. With that, KULU was born.
Matt, currently living in New York City running a small tech startup, has his eyes set on growing KULU to become a staple in the city, always being there to partner with and provide for underserved communities.
Neal Dossouvi
Treasurer & Co-Founder
Neal Dossouvi, originally from Silver Spring, MD, is a Co-Founder and Treasurer of the KULU Foundation. For Neal, the concept of “helping out” was instilled on a small scale from a young age. After discussing with friends, it became clear that there can never be enough assistance in the world and help can come in different shapes and sizes. Those reasons, along with being able to make a difference now, led Neal to want to create KULU with his Co-Founders. Neal graduated from Loyola University Maryland in 2017 and is currently a accountant living in Baltimore, Maryland.
Paul Emdin
Vice President & Co-Founder
Paul Emdin, a Keene State College graduate of 2017, is a Co-Founder and Vice President of the KULU Foundation. Growing up in Edgemont, New York, he learned the value of community service from his mother and volunteered with various non-profits in Westchester County throughout his childhood. Now residing in lower Manhattan and working in the AdTech industry, Paul is passionate about making a positive impact on others' lives through the KULU Foundation alongside his board members.
Colleen Samot
Board Member
Colleen was born and raised in Sag Harbor, New York. At a very young age Colleen learned the value of giving back and helping those in need when she attended East End Hospice’s “Camp Good Grief”, a bereavement camp for children who have experienced the death of a loved one. “Camp Good Grief” is a volunteer-based camp that takes place every Summer for one week, at no cost to the campers. It was Colleen’s experience at “Camp Good Grief” that made her want to make a difference in her local community and begin volunteering. Since then, Colleen has volunteered for countless organizations and causes, at varying capacities, across many states. Colleen’s love for volunteering and giving back was one of the many reasons she decided to attend Loyola University Maryland’s Sellinger School of Business and Management, where she was a double major in marketing and management. Now living in Manhattan and working in the Fashion industry Colleen continues to find volunteering and giving back to be a major part of her life. When presented with the opportunity to join the KULU foundation and give back to communities that have played an important role in her life, on a larger scale she could not have been more excited to join the organization.

Brad Magnusson
Board Member
I joined the KULU Foundation in July 2022 because I strongly believe in its mission and vision. KULU is unique in that it does not have one philanthropic focus and works to address a variety of needs that many communities are faced with. Seeing the positive impact that KULU has already made motivates me and my fellow board members to continue with our efforts. I am excited for what the future of this foundation has in store.
